Leïla Koumiya is a French-Moroccan DJ, producer, musician and former founding member of the Taxi Kebab duo. She subtly combines Arabo-Amazigh sounds and polyrhythms with the electric atmosphere of clubs, in an emancipating & poetic power. For her, celebration is resolutely political, and freeing oneself from stereotypes and respecting one’s musical roots is essential. Exploring the current scene in the SWANA regions (south west asia, north africa), her percussive & syncopated sets explore the nuances of bass music, mahragan and drum’n’bass, while allowing herself a few detours. Leïla Koumiya is a resident of Radio Flouka and a party organizer in Nancy. Former member of the Taxi Kebab duo (2018-2022 / Real World Records), she is working on her next live project alongside her dj project.
